This role is responsible for applying technology to drive Vesta's real-time fraud detection engine.


  • Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design and estimate effort for various real-time fraud detection systems
  • Work on a Scrum team to develop and test product features
  • Contribute to all phases of product development and delivery
  • Provide technical specifications and documentation
  • Develop and performs unit and basic integration tests
  • Collaborate with product team, enterprise architecture, and others in the organization to effectively communicate features and changes
  • Participate in peer design reviews, code reviews, and team community events


  • 3+ years working with Java developing well-designed, testable, efficient code
  • Experience designing and developing with fraud detection systems
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong development skills with Java technologies and a deep understanding of APIs and micro-services
  • Experience programming in Javascript, Python, and using JSON
  • Experience with cloud computing services is a plus
  • A background in test automation using tools such as JUnit, JMeter, WebDriver, and SoapUI NG Pro
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, including deep log scans, SQL Profiler and Application server logging
  • Experience with Tomcat (Trust-store and key-store setup and configurations, server.xml, context and web.xml, and JDBC connections pooling)
  • Experience with Databases (Transact SQL 2012+, windows authentication mode, management studio or enterprise manager)
  • An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must have demonstrated history of impeccable integrity, ethics and fair plays
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office tools
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and display initiative, self-motivation and dedication necessary for timely and successful work completion
